The IEQ has just launched the 7th National Competitiveness Survey 2006, covering close to 850 enterprises. The areas of investigation covered by this survey are the same as those of 2005. However a number of improvements have been introduced with respect to the questionnaire and sample. (see the continuation on Novelties of the 2006 survey)
This mission has been discharged by the IEQ at the request of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Small and Medium Enterprises. This evaluation was conducted on the basis of a survey realized in collaboration with the Office of Upgrading, the Agency for Industrial Promotion (API) and the GTZ. Two samples have been retained: one sample covering 400 adhering enterprises (basic sample) and another covering 200 non adhering enterprises (control sample). In addition, a specific module was addressed to employees of adhering enterprises during the survey in order to obtain their view points on the contribution, of the upgrading program (PMN) to the improvement of working conditions (training and retraining, participation in decision making, motivation, salary increases etc…) (Link to the french document)
Considering the central place that constitutes the knowledge economy in the development of Tunisia, and jointly to the report of execution of the plan, the IEQ has been charged to prepare a report of follow-up and of evaluation witch will be dedicated annually to the knowledge economy in Tunisia... Within the framework of 2005 training program, The institute of Quantitative Economy (IEQ) organizes in collaboration with the Arab Planning Institute- Kuwait a cycle of training on competitiveness policies and the analysis of external trade during the period from the 5 to September 30, 2005. This cycle includes three programs .
The IMF will provide to the IEQ Library the following print editions of materials: books published by the IMF, country, and economic studies, technical papers, annual reports, and statistical publications. In addition to internal users, the IEQ will place these publications at the disposal of all users in Tunisia. The IEQ is also a depository of the World Bank publications since April 1994.
